White Cross Windfarm

EcoLogic

The White Cross Windfarm is a floating off-shore array planned for the Bristol Channel.  The cable for the array will reach land at Saunton sands in North Devon then run southwards through Braunton Marches, a grazing marsh system behind the Braunton Burrows National Nature Reserve, to the power station at Yelland and connection to the national grid. The route will cross ponds, streams and grazing marsh ditches, and as part of a larger ecological appraisal, being undertaken by EcoLogic, surveys were required of the aquatic invertebrate communities within the various freshwater habitats, as well as the aquatic and bankside flora of the grazing marsh ditches.
